how to hide assignments in google classroom
As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, Google Classroom does not have a built-in feature specifically for hiding assignments from students. However, you can achieve a similar effect by marking an assignment as "Draft" or "Unassigned." Here's how you can do it:
To Mark an Assignment as "Draft" or "Unassigned" in Google Classroom:
Open Google Classroom:
- Go to Google Classroom and sign in.
Access the Class:
- Navigate to the class where you want to hide an assignment.
Go to the Classwork Page:
- Click on the "Classwork" tab to view the list of assignments.
Create a New Assignment (Optional):
- If you're creating a new assignment, click on "Create" and select "Assignment." Enter the assignment details but do not assign it to students yet.
Edit an Existing Assignment:
- If you want to hide an existing assignment, click on the assignment title to open it.
Set as "Draft" or "Unassigned":
- For new assignments, before assigning it, you can click on the dropdown menu next to the "Assign" button and select "Save draft."
- For existing assignments, you can click on the "Assign" button, and in the assignment details, you can select the class name at the top and choose "Unassigned" for all students.
Save Changes:
- Click on "Save" or "Assign" to save your changes.
By marking an assignment as "Draft" or setting it as "Unassigned," students won't see it in their active assignments. However, keep in mind that this approach won't completely hide the assignment from your view as the teacher. It will be visible in the Classwork section, but it will not be visible to students until you choose to assign it.
Please note that Google Classroom features may be updated, and new functionalities could be introduced after my last knowledge update. Always refer to the latest Google Classroom documentation or support resources for the most accurate information.
